Knotless or box base

Knotless keeps the root flat and tension-free; a traditional box base gives a fuller, more defined start. Both are bookable.

Four sizes

Extra small, small, medium and large. Smaller sizes take longer in the chair and last longer once installed.

Priced by length

Bra-length, waist-length and longer are priced separately, so you see the exact cost before you confirm.

Boho option

Add curly boho pieces through the length for a softer, lived-in finish — priced the same as standard knotless.

What pick and drop actually means

The term comes from the technique: the stylist picks up a section of hair, braids the extension straight down, and drops it — no cornrow track along the scalp. The result is a full head of free-hanging individual braids that you can part, tie up, or wear down. In our menu these are your knotless braids and boho knotless braids; if you've asked for pick and drop before, that's the service to book.

Choosing your size and length

  • Extra small — the most detailed install, longest chair time, longest wear.
  • Small — the most popular balance of fullness and longevity.
  • Medium — quicker to install, lighter on the scalp, easy to restyle.
  • Large — fastest install and the lightest option for a short-term style.
  • Length is chosen separately; longer hair adds weight, so pair very long lengths with a medium or large size if you're prone to tension.

Making them last

  • Wrap or bonnet every night — friction is what makes the ends frizz first.
  • Cleanse the scalp with diluted shampoo every two to three weeks and dry thoroughly.
  • Keep oil on the scalp, not slathered through the braid, to avoid buildup.
  • Book removal by week eight; leaving them longer risks matting at the root.

Is pick and drop the same as knotless braids?
Effectively, yes. Pick and drop describes individual braids left loose rather than cornrowed down. We install them knotless as standard, or with a traditional box-braid base if you prefer.
How long do pick and drop braids last?
Most clients wear them six to eight weeks. Smaller sizes hold up longest; larger sizes start to loosen sooner.
How long does the appointment take?
It depends on size and length — larger sizes are a few hours, extra small can be a full day. Your exact install time is shown next to the service when you book.
Can I get it done faster?
Yes. You can add extra stylists to your booking so two or three braiders work at once, which cuts chair time significantly.
